Reviewing The Chronicle of Spiderman

There is a child in every one of us and that always likes to think about his /her favorite superhero. That superhero, one who gives us the courage to fight till the end, one who can pull the rabbit from the hat anytime and who gives us assurance that they fight for us. There are many superheroes like Superman, Batman, Phantom, and Mandrake etc. But Spiderman fits the bill perfectly, because he seems to be one of us. He is riddled by his own set of problem and misunderstood by the society. Administration seemed to be unsure whether he is a helpful vigilant or a clever criminal.

History of making "Spidey":

Early 1960's marked the success of teen-age comics. After the huge success of Fantastic Four, Marvel comics' editor and head writer Stan Lee thought about a character who will be more of a common man with unnatural power and with whom common teenagers can identify themselves pretty easily. After that he stumbled upon the idea of Spiderman. Steve Ditko designed the immortal head-to-toe costume.

Commercial Success:

After publishing the first issue sales figures were reviewedandit showed tremendous statistics. "Amazing Fantasy" in which the first Spiderman issue was published showed an all time high sales figure. Spiderman was an instant success with the teen age. Riding on the wave of this success Marvel released a solo series named "Amazing Spider Man". More than 45 years have passed by since then but Spiderman is still our favorite superhero. It had been featured in movies too. The films were released and they became one of the highest grossing films in the history of franchise movies.

Why we love Spidey?

Common people can connect with Spiderman very easily. Peter Parker is a boy next door, who lives with Uncle Ben and Aunt May in New York. One day in a science exhibition one radioactive affected spider bites him. From there he got the agility and proportionate power. Being a student of science he designed his own costume and weapon (a small barrel attached on the wrist, which can throw web on the enemies). One day he ignored a fleeing thief and by the irony of fate the same criminal robbed and killed Uncle Ben. From then onwards he learnt that with great responsibility comes with great power.

Through the different stories of the hero called Spideywe can see that he has common problem like all of us. He struggles to pay his rents, his relationship with his long-term girlfriend often turns sour, and he has a bad boss (Jonah Jameson in Daily Bugle). Although he has superpower but he is a common man who has to go to office daily to earn his bread. So we can identify our self easily with Peter Parker and this commonness makes alter egoour favorite super hero.
