One of the most popular superheroes of the Marvel universe is the wall climbing, web slinging, danger sensing superhero, Spiderman. When Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created the character and he first appeared in the August 1962 issue, Amazing Fantasy #15, few would have predicted the birth of one of the greatest comic book characters ever. Now Spiderman is also one of the most commercially successful characters ever as well, making it easy to find free Spiderman online games to play.

If you are looking to play a Spiderman game online, one of the easiest ways to find one is to type it into a search engine. There are thousands of game sites on the internet that carry flash-based internet games that have the character, Spiderman. Using a Spiderman Sofa, Sleeping Bag, Pillows and Other Items to Make a Marvel Bedroom


A Spiderman sofa, available online and in retail stores, is one component of a Marvel Comics bedroom setup. Having a small sofa in the bedroom will leave space for more Spiderman accoutrements. Some models have a pull out bed feature, which is great for sleepovers. A few Spiderman wall appliques are a great way to dress your Marvel Comics room up without marring the walls. These are available in a wide variety of sizes and styles and are re-positionable so your room can be rearranged when you like. If wall space is limited, consider a large Spiderman applique and use it on the ceiling.

If sleepovers are a regular event, be sure to have at least one Spiderman sleeping bag handy for guests. An air mattress is an easily stored solution for overnight guests to put their sleeping bags on. Spiderman Costumes Hit the Headlines


Is there no end to Spiderman's popularity? The answer is a resounding "no". Spiderman is one of those timeless classic superheroes which appeal to young and old alike, with Spiderman costumes continuing to be top sellers for fancy dress retailers. Spiderman costumes are available in both adult and child sizes and range from the classic red Spiderman, to the new black Spiderman "Venom" costume. Accessories include red or black gloves and boot covers with the classic webbing pattern printed on them. A plethora of Spiderman toys, games, wallpaper, bed linen, lamps, lunch boxes and memorabilia is also widely available.

A fourth installment of the big-screen version of the comic book is due to be released in 2011, with the film's producers promising many more Spiderman films to follow. It has been established that Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man 2 are among the top twenty biggest grossing films of all time in the world, so why stop at number four? It obviously makes sense to stick with a winning formula. Even a lavish musical based on the superhero is being planned, entitled "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" which will be reportedly the most expensive production in Broadway history. Featuring songs from U2, the musical is sure to be a great hit.

Now it even seems that Spiderman can also take the credit for a real-life rescue. A Bangkok fireman dressed in a Spiderman costume rescued an eight-year-old autistic boy who had climbed out of a third-floor classroom window. Efforts by the teachers to coax the child back inside had failed and a chance remark by the boy's mother regarding his passion for Spiderman prompted one fire fighter - a fellow Spiderman fan - to rush back to the fire station where he just happened to keep his Spiderman costume in his locker! It was reported that when the child saw the fireman in his Spiderman costume, the boy smiled and promptly threw himself in his superhero's arms. Apparently, the fireman keeps his Spiderman costume in his locker to liven up fire drills in schools. Well, that's his excuse anyway!

Spiderman also hit the Israeli news headlines this year, when it was reported that Highway police were called to apprehend a man in a Spiderman costume, who was startling commuters by throwing ropes at their vehicles (presumably improvised "web-shooters") and jumping on top of cars. The would-be superhero was arrested and, while under investigation, told police he had woken up in hospital wearing the Spiderman costume, with no recollection of how he came to be dressed in it or why he was there. Unsurprisingly, doctors were summoned to assess the man's mental health.

Using Spiderman decorations and other spider-themed items can make your young Marvel fan's birthday party extra special. About Spiderman Games


Spiderman games make another category of high demand online games, but if we are to thoroughly discuss Spiderman games, we are going to need to talk about them in a broader sense. What I mean by this is that we need to think about Spiderman games both online and on gaming consoles. Basically when we speak about it in these terms, we are going to have a historical discussion more than anything else.

Spiderman games probably got there start on Atari. I was pretty impressed to see that this is a web-slinging games. The point is to climb your way up buildings using Spiderman's web as fast as you can without getting knocked off. There is usually a boss of sorts at the top waiting to complicate things and try to keep you from reaching your goal. As far as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES [as if you didn't know]) and Spiderman games are concerned, I know that there is at least one. The only thing is I have never played it or seen it and therefore know nothing about it.

I have, however, played two Spiderman games on the Sega Genesis, and like most third-party games like these, it was also made for the SNES. The first one that I have played is called Spiderman/X-Men. In this side scrolling game you choose from among Spiderman and some of the X-Men characters to play with. Each character has it's own series of stages to complement their respective superpowers. The graphics in this game are not impressive at all, and the gameplay is not much better. For instance when you press the button to use Wolverine's power, his blades just come out. Another game from this era is Maximum Carnage. In this game you choose between playing as Spiderman or Venom. This game is similar to the last one in that each character has his own set of stages to overcome with different villains to vanquish, but this game has much better graphics and an arcade-style gameplay that was very well executed. The other facet of Maximum Carnage that made it much better than Spiderman/X-Men is that it has a storyline with tastefully done cut scenes.

With the release of the Spiderman movie trilogy and the jump to 3-D game development in the last ten to fifteen years, we have seen at least three high profile Spiderman games across multiple consoles. In some of the earlier 3-D Spiderman games, the concept of traveling by slinging webs was so prevalent, that you could do it anywhere. You didn't even have to find anything to stick your web to. Since then there have been many other Spiderman games that have fixed this problem, thus making gameplay much more interesting. Again I haven't actually played or watched anyone play these games so I don't know much more about them.

Of course online Spiderman games begin to coincide historically with the 3-D console games, especially since the second movie. One subcategory of these online games is actually that of games made by the film studio to advertise the movie. Usually the graphics on these games are better than independently made games, but the gameplay isn't that interesting.

While some are better than others, generally independently made Spiderman games are far more creative even if the graphics aren't quite up to par. Usually there is more web-slinging available. Some of the better games are point and click games, but you simply climb buildings in some. Well the best way to find out about them is to play them, and I earnestly want to encourage you to try them all!

Spiderman Birthday Party - For High Flying, Thrilling Super Hero Fun


Scan a Spiderman comic strip onto your computer, and use a photo software program to take the conversation out of the captions, so you can replace it with your invitation information, and you have great Spiderman Birthday Party Invitations!

Spiderman Comics


Spiderman comics have always been on high demand because they are not only bought by children but also by adults who probably read them when they were kids as well. Spiderman comics are a Marvel Comic original that made its debut in 1962 and was written and created by Stan lee and Steve Dikto.

In his first appearance in Marvel Comics Spiderman made his debut in a guest appearance spot, but would later have his own comic line. The Spiderman character real name is Peter Parker a quite and unsure fellow, who after he is bitten by a spider which had been used for experiments, which means basically the spider had been given different gene's that made it stronger, faster and could sense danger when it was near and this what transferred into the young Peter Parker and transformed him to his alter ego the wise cracking, web sling Spiderman.

Spiderman comics became a big hit with the kids as well as with adults and this spun into two cartoons. One cartoon was about Spidey on his own and the other was him and iceman and was called the double duo, which actually was also a comic book. The cartoons then lead to a Spiderman movie which would later be remade in early 2000 into the Spiderman movies which we have come to love. Spiderman also shares the scene with other characters like Mary Jane Watson who is Peter Parker love interest, then there his Aunt and off course the bad guys like the green goblin and Dr. Doom as well as Doc Octopus. The suit of Spiderman has always been red and blue but there was a time the suit changed to black in 1984 when an alien material or matter attached itself to Spidermans suit.

Why You Should Choose Any One of the Amazing Spiderman Costumes For This Years Halloween


There are an assortment of amazing Spiderman costumes out there. But the designs mainly stay the same. Spiderman has had many different costumes but there are only two designs that really stick in your mind, the rest were either short lived or simply part of one ongoing episode within the comics, such as when Spiderman becomes captain universe and his costume changes into an amazing design.

The two designs that most people recognise worldwide are the original red and blue design embroidered with a web design and what is commonly known as the alien costume. Which was all in black with the symbol of a spider emblazoned across his chest. Both suits depict important times within Peter Parkers life. Peter Parker being the alter ego of Spiderman.

So which of these amazing Spiderman costumes should you go with. Well I guess you need to know what both costumes brought to the character since as mentioned above they play important part in his ongoing story.

The Red and Blue costume was the original, and is possibly more recognised than the later black alien costume. The costume is not as intimidating as the alien one and to many it represents everything that is Spiderman since he has worn it throughout his career as a super hero. It represents the more chirpy side of Spiderman, the cheeky chappy who loved to taunt his enemies with a little bit of sarcasm.

The black alien costume brought to Spiderman powers he never dreamed he would control. He became faster, stronger, more agile but also more aggressive and intimidating. Peter Parker began to change as a person since the alien costume was actually a symbiote, which joined with his own body, not only affecting his physicality but also his temperament. This was a darker avenue of Spiderman history and it was only down to his own morale code that he managed to discover a way to separate himself from the symbiote.

But that is not the end of Spiderman wearing a black suit. His then girlfriend, the Black Cat made him a replica of the alien costume for him to wear because she thought it looked sexier. He finally returned to the famous red and blue costume after Venom, the Alien costumes new partner attacked his wife Mary Jane and she forced him to dump the black and go with old faithful.

For me the Black Alien costume is perfect for Halloween. It is dark and sinister, where as the original red and blue costume is more akin to your regular fancy dress. You should also remember that these costumes are tight fitting, so make sure you source one of good quality, it's no good if it sags and fits loosely, you need one that hugs to your skin to replicate that spidey costume look.

Whatever design of amazing Spiderman costumes you choose, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, both of the above are brilliant designs and will have you standing out in the crowd. You may even be tempted to pop it on while in the house on regular occasions, just make sure you draw the curtains first.

The Real-Life Spiderman


If you have ever felt the desire to act out the fantasy life of your favourite superhero, chances are you have not taken it to such extreme lengths as Frenchman Alain Robert. For him, Spiderman is no longer a fictional character and he has literally brought the comic superhero to life. Alain Robert is an "urban free solo" climber with a penchant for Spiderman costumes. Amazingly, the forty-seven-year-old has scaled more than eighty of the world's tallest buildings, often using just his hands and feet just like Spiderman. Alain gained his Spiderman moniker after climbing the eighty-eight storey Jin Mau Tower in Shanghai, China, whilst wearing a Spiderman costume. The only accessory Alain carries with him is a small bag of chalk powder which he ties around his waist and which he can rub on his hands to absorb sweat and enable him to maintain a good grip.

Many of Alain's climbs are illegal and he has been arrested over one hundred times, including halfway up Sydney's Centrepoint Tower and after scaling Canary Wharf in London. Other climbs have included the Eiffel Tower ("one of the easiest", he says), the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Investment Authority Building in Abu Dhabi. In April 2009, he scaled the Lloyds building in the city of London in his Spiderman costume, to promote an environmental campaign and highlight global warming. However, not all of Alain's climbs are illegal or are performed to highlight a serious point. In 2004, he was hired to promote the forthcoming release of the movie Spiderman on DVD. Dressed in his Spiderman costume, he climbed the forty-eight storey Total Tower in the Paris suburb of La Defense.

His most recent venture - and most remarkable feat to date - has been to scale the 1,482 feet Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the third tallest building in the world. Apparently, he reached the top so quickly that no security personnel noticed him or detained. However, he was reported to have been arrested for trespassing on completing the feat. This time, he was not wearing his Spiderman costume, although this does not appear to have hindered his ascent.

Alain's Spiderman costume unfortunately does not protect him from injury. He has suffered seven serious falls, with the worst one occurring in 1982. He fell fifty feet after his anchor and rope gave way during training and had three operations. Chillingly, he says that he is a gambler by nature, which means that he likes to gamble with his life - he likes the "buzz" - and that one day he will lose the gamble. Let's hope that he keeps on being a winner!

Top 10 Ideas For Spiderman Party Supplies, Games and Decorations


1. Invite your guests to your Spiderman birthday party with colorful theme invitations. Or create your own using bright red (or black) construction paper or cardstock. Fold the paper in half, write, "Swing on over to ______'s (your child's name) birthday party!" and then attach cobwebs and fake spiders to the outside. Include all the party details on the inside.

2. Greet your guests at the door with a 5' Scene Setter. Place an Amazing Birthday Banner in your entryway. Around your party room, place eye-catching 5' Super Hero add-ons as well as City Scapes to create the perfect setting.

3. Hang Spiderman 12" balloons and danglers from the ceiling. Add red and black balloons and use similar colors of crepe paper to create "webs" around the room. Or buy cobwebs and plastic spiders to hang in the four corners of the room.

4. Use a bright red tablecover for your party table and be sure to have themed plates, cups, bowls and napkins ready! Use a colorful character candle for the birthday cake and a character (or spider) Pinata as a centerpiece.

5. Dress your child in a Spiderman costume for his or her birthday party! Costumes are available in various sizes and come in black and red (including glow, fiberoptic and comic costumes). If your child doesn't want to wear the full costume, he or she may opt for Gloves and/or Boot Tops.

6. As your guests arrive, you can hand each one a Blowout, a Paper Mask or a Spider Ring.

7. "Spiderman, Spiderman, We Need Help!" (Number of Players: 5 or more) One person is chosen to be "It" (he or she can even put on the costume, gloves, or boot tops) and he/she goes out of the room. The rest of the group then holds hands in a circle (standing up). After that, they can step over, go under, and twist each other's arms--anything they can think of to created a web for the person who is "It" to figure out. The only rule is that they can't let go of each other's hands.

When they're done getting twisted up, the group yells, "Spiderman! Spiderman! We Need Help!" Then the person who is "It" comes out and tries to untangle the group by telling them what to do, such as where to step, which way to twist, etc. Once again, the participants cannot let go each other's hands. If he/she can get them untangled, he wins. But if he can't get them untangled, then the group wins. Different people can take turns being "It" for other rounds.

8. "Black Magic" (Number of Players: 3 or more) This is a game where there's a secret. Two people have to be in on the secret for the game to work. One of the two people goes out of the room, and one stays in. The person in the room helps the group decide on an object. Then the other person comes back into the room and tries to guess what object was chosen.

The person who remained in the room, let's call her "Jo", points to different things around the room, and says, "Is this it?" Then the "seeker", let's call her Sally, either says "yes" or "no". The object can be anything, even a zipper or something discreet like that. The object of the game is for the other members of the group to figure out how Sally is guessing it, so don't tell the secret to the group.

The secret is: Sally knows what the chosen object is because Jo points to a BLACK object before she points to the chosen object, thus the name, "Black Magic".

9. Pinata time! Use your Spiderman (or spider) pinata centerpiece--having previously filled it with Spider Rings, Punch Balls, character Tattoos, character Stickers, Mini Dots and an assortment of red and black (or your child's favorite) candies. Use a Pinata Bat and Blindfold and let each child have three hits until the pinata breaks. Be sure to have loot bags on hand!

10. After your party ends, use Spiderman Thank You notes to send or deliver to your guests. You may want to include an additionalparty favor (such as stickers or mini dots) in each one.

Spiderman Invitations - Creative and Fun Ideas


Spiderman invitations are a neat and fun way to see who RSVP's for your party. Begin building the excitement for your party early by making your invitations stand out from the others. In the interest of saving time, you could buy some Spiderman invitations. But for those of us who are interested in being a little more creative, consider making your own.

The possibilities are limitless with a computer and printer. Templates are available on the web, for free or cheap, that will help you choose a design. Print shop software usually contains a program where you can simply drag and drop your pictures and text and then print them.

If you have access to a program like Photoshop, ask the guest of honor who his favorite Spidey villains are. Use the program to assemble the villains on the front of the invitations. Make a logo that says "We've got something planned for Spiderman" and add to the villains. On the reverse, print pertinent party information such as date, location and time.

If any girls will be attending your party, be sure to make them a special Spiderman invitation. An idea would be to include a female character on the front of the invitation such as the Black Cat. If you know that the young lady is not interested in comic books and superheros, put a picture of Spiderman's girlfriend on the front with the text "Mary Jane Watson Requests Your Presence". This way, each guest gets to feel special from the moment they check their mail.

For those wanting to save paper, an e-vite may be just the thing. Making an online invitation with a Spiderman theme is easy, but does rely on people checking their email regularly. While it is nice to preserve resources, including money, a print option may be best.

For those who want to get even more creative, magnet or sticker paper may be purchased and used to provide a keepsake and reminder of the big event. Print the Spiderman invitations on the special paper and kids can stick a magnet on the refrigerator or a sticker on their door that reminds them of the party. Venom Spiderman Costume - The Arch Enemy


The most vicious mass of mayhem Spiderman ever encountered was Venom. Venom was the melding of Eddie Brock (a man who blamed Spiderman for his ruined career) and the alien symbiote that once masqueraded as Spiderman's black costume. Transformed to the Venom Spiderman Costume, it proved to be one of Spiderman's worst foes.

Spiderman 3 - Your Friendly Neighborhood Blockbuster


In 1962 a young cartoonist, Stan Lee, came up with an idea for a new comic superhero. During an era in which most of our superheroes were muscle-bound adults, young Peter Parker struck an unlikely figure.

An adolescent -- a pimply, gangly short-sighted teen you would expect to be the last kid picked for sports -- Peter Parker was no typical hero. However, his shortcomings struck a chord with a comic-book audience living through those same difficult times; victims of bullies who dreamed of waking up one morning with the power to stop them, to make a difference, to be someone -- anyone -- other than the nerdy kid they saw in the mirror.

Despite being rejected by Marvel Comics, Stan Lee persisted in selling the idea of Spiderman and was picked up by the struggling title "Amazing Fantasy" -- and the rest is history. Within a few years "The Amazing Spiderman" was a mainstream comic book.

Flash forward forty years to the release of Spiderman the movie. Following the success in 2000 of another superhero adaptation, the first X-Men movie, expectations were high for Spidey's first big screen outing. Not one to disappoint, Spiderman became the first movie in history to take $100million in its opening weekend, and the only movie ever to deny a Star Wars film the top spot at the box office.

The second instalment of the Spiderman series did just as well, taking $88million in its opening weekend and setting a record for highest takings on an opening day at over $40million. If enormous profits and critical acclaim weren't enough, Spiderman 2 went on to win the Academy Award for Visual Effects.

So, considering that the Spiderman series has so far taken almost $800million at the US box office -- and much more overseas and in the rental market -- next year's Spiderman 3 has some mighty big boots to fill.

From the look of it director Sam Raimi has every intention of living up to the standards he set for first two movies, and then some. With a budget estimated at $250million, Spiderman 3 will be the most expensive movie ever made, beating the previous record of King Kong's $207million by an enormous margin.

Spiderman 3 will see the return of Harry Osborn (James Franco), still set on avenging his father's death. Following on from the final scenes of Spiderman 2, Osborn will command the technology developed by his father the Green Goblin in his mission to kill Spiderman.

Osborn won't be alone in his quest. Rumor has it that a second villain played by Topher Grace (Mona Lisa Smile, Traffic) will be getting a piece of the action. Based on a villain from the comic book series, Grace will play Venom, a symbiotic life form consisting of an alien lifeform and journalist Eddie Brock.

While principal filming for the third instalment was completed in August 2006, it will take months to complete the complex CGI necessary for the movie. In fact, some key scenes were shot as early as November of 2005 to allow Sony Pictures Imageworks the time to prepare the visual effects.

It seems, then, that with the enormous budget, new villains and mind-blowing visual effects, Spiderman 3 will be aiming to not only live up to success of the first two instalments, but blow them away entirely.

How to Throw a Spiderman Party to Remember


Planning a Spiderman party is an easy and fun way of making the Marvel Comic fan in your life ecstatic. Spiderman Exercises Simplified


The Spiderman Exercises

This article is designed to clarify the different exercises that are referred to as 'Spiderman exercises.' There are four quite different exercises that are commonly referred to as such and they will be described below:

1. The Spiderman Exercise for the Hand, Wrist & Forearm

The first of the Spiderman exercises refers to an exercise that strengthens finger flexion, finger extension, wrist extension and forearm supination. The latter three of the four exercises are specifically designed to offset RSI circumstances whereby many people (due to computers, production lines, and various grip related workplaces and hobbies) create harmful imbalances due to imbalanced daily habits and ergonomics. In other words, it is quite common for various sports, musical pursuits, hobbies and workplace environments to cause an imbalance whereby people develop an imbalance in chronic finger flexion, wrist flexion and forearm pronation that lead to imbalances in the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow. These imbalances may progress far enough to be the genesis of conditions related to poor circulation, muscle adhesion and nerve entrapment.

This Spiderman exercise is designed to be used in the prevention or in the rehabilitation of RSI injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, and DeQuarvain's syndrome, to name a few. The exercise conveniently combines four exercises into one continuous motion (finger flexion, finger extension, wrist extension & forearm supination). The action of the exercise, done regularly, opposes the actions that cause RSI related muscle and joint imbalances. The user is aided in memorizing the exercise as it mimics the action of Spiderman creating a spider web.

2. Spiderman Exercise For the Core Muscles (Active Crawl)

The second exercise commonly referred to as a Spiderman exercise is designed to strengthen and stabilize core muscles and can be also used as an aerobic and flexibility workout. This exercise requires no equipment and simply an area where the user has space to move (at least 5 yards, although more space (i.e. outdoors) is ideal). It can be done anywhere and is a great activity when outdoors.

The exercise starts placing the user on 'all fours' in a crawling position. The user starts by advancing the shin of the trailing leg towards the lead forearm on the same side and balances by placing the arm and trailing leg of the opposite side in a spread position. The user then advances forward by opposing the arm and leg positions of each side. In other words, if the user starts with the left leg and left forearm in approximation, they will advance forward bringing the right leg in the right forearm into approximation by the next step. The action of each step in the crawl is initiated by the forward movement of each advancement of the ipsilateral hand and leg. Stay low to maximize the flexibility of the hip and pelvis.

The degree that the ipsilateral (same side) forearm and leg approximate each other determines the degree of difficulty of the exercise. More advanced users may be able to touch leg forearm on the ipsilateral side while staying low to the ground.

A further advance in difficulty is to perform the crawl backwards.

3. Spiderman Lunge Exercise (Static)

The third exercise commonly referred to as a Spiderman exercise also addresses core musculature. It is more of a static exercise than the Spiderman exercise 2 above. The user starts in a push-up position with arms and legs spread comfortably apart. The user then lifts one leg, bends the knee and approximates the shin of that leg towards the arm of the ipsilateral arm. Again, as in exercise 2 above, the closer that the shin and arm can be approximated more advanced is the exercise. The user would then return to the starting position and repeat with the opposite side.

It is an exercise to strengthen core and abdominal muscles and stretch the hip and groin.

The user would repeat as many repetitions as desired.

4. The Spiderman Climb or Push-Up

The fourth and last of the exercises commonly referred to as a Spiderman exercise is the Spiderman climb or push-up. This exercise is performed like a regular push-up except that when the user lowers the body towards the floor they will bend one leg such that the thigh of that leg approximates forward arm. The active leg is not to touch the ground. The user then pushes up and re-extends the bent knee into its original position and repeat on the opposite side.

The exercise strengthens the chest, triceps, quads and hip flexors and assists flexibility of the hip and pelvis.

Again these Spiderman push-ups are repeated as many repetitions as desired by the user.

Spiderman Party Favors - Decorations and Balloons For an Unforgettable Birthday


Making Spiderman party favors, decorations and balloons is a great way to add a personal, special touch to a special day. Should you find yourself short on time, you can make your own custom balloons with any color balloons and a Sharpie. Younger children will love having their name on the balloon and this actually also makes a fun party game as well. Decorate balloons with spiders and put numbers on each balloon. If you're using helium, tie them to chairs, if not, hang them from the ceiling at varying distances according to how many points each balloon is worth.

Pass out cans of silly string and let the guests take turns using their Spiderman "webbing" to hit the most balloons and gather the most points. Be sure to make it known that guests will be helping with the cleanup (young children can be told to find 5 or 6 items each and put them in the garbage) and that it is not acceptable to shoot at anyone's eyes. A little effort and creativity, with maybe a few dollars thrown in, can produce Spiderman party favors, decorations and balloons for an unforgettable birthday party.
