Bring out the silly string, webbing, plastic spiders, and let the fun begin; Spiderman has been a superhero staple since you were a child. With the new popularity of Spidey on the big screen, your children are most likely big fans as well, so a Spiderman Birthday Party is sure to be a popular choice!
Your first choice will be whether you want to purchase a party pack, buy party goods separately, or make your own. The best way to decide is to factor in things like budget and time. If you check, you may be surprised to find the party packs are often less expensive, but if you want a custom feel, or choose to focus on entertainment and less on things like themed party ware, you might find you don't need the whole party pack, and choose to go another route.
If you are crafty, and have the time to invest, making your own invitations is a good place to start. One interesting option would be to buy a package of Spiderman balloons. What you don't use for the invitations can be used as party favors or to decorate, so none of it will go to waste. Inflate the balloons, write all your party details on them, deflate, add them and a big of fake spider webbing to an envelope, and you have great, unique invitations.
To decorate, pull out some of your webbing and plastic spiders from your Halloween décor and you are well on your way. Add Spiderman posters and photos that can be given as party favors in loot bags at party's end. Hang Spiderman Villains outside big windows, and give each guest a water pistol. Allow them to take turns using the water guns to 'get the bad guys' but be prepared for a little indoor water gun fighting among guests, because you know it is bound to happen. Have water guns, will get wet!
A Spiderman cake can be purchased, or you can make a simple cake in whatever flavor you choose, add red food coloring to white frosting, heat, and pour between the layers on your cake, then top with the melted frosting. This makes a surface smooth enough to draw on. Use white piping to divide the cake into serving size wedges, then create webbing by going wedge to wedge until it resembles a spider web.
Green Goblin juice is perfect. Take Lemon-lime soft drink mix, add pineapple juice, lime sherbet and ginger ale. Your Spiderman party is sure to be a complete success.
