Cave Diving in Florida - Heaven Is a Place on Earth

I thought writing this article would be dead easy as I'd just re-use the emails I sent from abroad, stitch them together and voila - I'd have a ready-made article. I arrived home and figured that perhaps this might not be the brightest of ideas. My emails sound like I'm on some serious drugs... or perhaps I should be on even stronger medication. So I'll make an attempt to restrain my enthusiasm just a tad here... but just quickly - the Florida caves are bloody awesome!!!

Florida really is heaven on earth... or rather is about as close to heaven as a cave diver can get without abstaining from drinking and spending their entire life helping little old ladies across the road. It is home to some very pretty caves, with beautiful clear tunnels that allow for wonderfully long penetrations and very long dives. It seems that any old cave in Florida resembles a map of our very own Tank cave, with tunnels that just go and go forever... it is hard not to be impressed.

Summer is usually not the time to hit the caves in Florida as the sweltering heat equals much pain, sweat and suffering whilst gearing up. On the upside many of the caves are virtually deserted which means you can have a whole cave system to yourself. Mind you this type of peace and serenity does not apply to weekends. The hot weekends mean that every man and his dog along with a li-lo and perhaps a beer seem to seek out a watering hole. Thus popular caves become popular swimming holes which means divers have to dodge much traffic and many flinging legs to get to the cave entrance... I'm thinking here of Ginnie in particular. Having said that, swimmers can be a source of much amusement on long deco hangs.

Still, you can't go to Florida and not visit the infamous Ginnie Springs. The place is definitely impressive, not just because of its infinite visibility but also because of the sheer size of the tunnels - you can easily drive a bus through some of them! Further, Ginnie is famous for its flow... if you decide to do your deco in the Ear, be prepared to hang on to the log for dear life. To get into Ginnie without blowing all their gas divers tend to clamber Spiderman style along the ceiling and across the walls. Do as the locals do!

The gold line is great, but so is the flow, so it is not ideal to stay on the main line. Swimming against the current for over 2000 feet is, from personal experience, rather tiresome. The smart thing is to do a jump at the 'park-bench' (don't worry you can't miss it, this is about the time you feel like resting and catching your breath... and conveniently it looks just like its name sake) and head towards the Hillier Tunnel where you will be safely away from the roaring flow. On your way you will find the infamous bats which are very amusing, and also if you look really carefully a bunch of small fossils in the walls and on the floor of the cave. Another nice place to visit is the white room - welcome to the disco! As long as your torch is pointing at the roof and illuminating the hundreds of air pockets you and your buddy can have a little dance.

Another cave with a great deal of flow is Little River and again most people jump off the main line and head through the Mud Tunnel in order to get into the guts of the cave. The recent droughts have reduced the flow, which made my dive here a pleasant dip as opposed to a marathon swim. While spectacular, the cave is a bit spooky with a lot of high vertical fissures and reminded me of a dungeon with so many tunnels all merging into one another. The low flow made the numerous finger marks on the walls seem very out of place and made it seem like something horrific had happened in the tunnels rather than divers simply using the walls to pull themselves against the flow.

Now Peacock is their so called 'training site' but don't be discouraged by this, as it is a very, very distant cousin of Gouldens. Those two are about as related as a centipede is to a unicorn. The Grand Traverse is particularly fun, you descend into Orange Grove and follow a crystal clear tunnel for over 4600 feet before finally exiting in Peacock I. Along the way are various small sinks or 'emergency exits,' which allow you to recalculate your thirds as you go... or if you're like me and have a small bladder, let you jump out for a quick toilet stop. Now, if you left your car at Orange Grove and did the grand tour, guess what, it's a long walk back. Unless of course you can hitch a ride with a bunch of friendly Floridians on the back of a tray - many thanks to the boys!

The grand tour allows you to see some of the best parts of the Peacock system but don't ignore Peacock III. This cave is a bit tighter and a lot more silty than its counterparts, with that thick dark mud that you'd see in Stinging Nettle or Fossils back home, but it's definitely worth a look.

Further up the road is Madison Blue and it is an amazing cave that goes through more 'costume' changes than Whoopi Goldberg hosting the Oscars. Every bit of this cave is different and around each corner is a little surprise; really the place just gets more and more stunning. The biggest surprise for me was that the gold line does not in fact lead all the way through to the famous Rocky Horror and big drop off and instead I found myself jumping off to the Roto-rooter tunnel. This mind you was not the end of the world as taking this jump and following even this small tunnel was still rather extraordinary. But the moral of that story is, if you don't care much where you want to go then it doesn't really matter, but if you're keen to head somewhere in particular... invest in a half decent map!

Cow is a truly wonderful cave and is my personal favorite, if for no other reason that it reminded me of home... you could actually get to the end of the line in this one! Actually cow is my favorite for a number of reasons, its smaller tunnels and various restrictions are challenging but most importantly it is incredibly beautiful. Some parts of it reminded me of Iddlebiddy back home in Oz, as it has some beautiful multi-colored stratified clay banks. To top it off a turtle was visiting the cavern, which made for a perfect distraction during the long deco hang.

At the back of Cow I had my not so smart moment. At the end of the line is a plastic moo cow and for a few seconds I thought to myself, what the hell is a cow doing all the way back here? Then it hit me, like a freight train... duh!

So far I talked about the caves in the Suwanee River Basin, where's a bit of a drive from these caves and part of the Woodville Karst Plain are Jackson Blue and Hole in the Wall. WKP might sound familiar as it's the home of the famous Walkulla Springs. While Walkulla is off limits to divers, Hole in the Wall is not a bad consolation prize. It is a great dive and offers the added attraction of a boat ride through the rather stunning Merritts Mill Pond area. The best part, you get to drive the boat yourself! Jackson Blue is also a beautiful, big and extensive cave and it is certainly worth the drive to this part of the State to dive these two caves.

Apart from the great diving one of my favorite things about the Floridian cave diving scene are the fill stations. Not only do they stock 32% as a standard gas of choice, not only do they charge by the liter rather than by the tank, but you can drive your car up to the filling station, chuck a whip on your tanks and get a fill without dragging the damn gear out or stripping it all off. To top it all off, the gas goes on the tab if you're a regular! Like I said, heaven... One thing's for sure, Mud Hole is definitely off my list of favorite cave sites and the crystal clear, beautiful and seemingly endless tunnels of Florida are definitely on!

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to Lamar Hires and the wonderful bunch at Dive Rite who were all incredibly generous, helpful and truly wonderful. A big thank you also to Scott and Kathleen Byars who took me under their wings and made sure I got wet and to Lamar English who kindly let me use some of his dive gear. It was these guys who made much of my trip possible and I am most grateful.

And of course hats off to the fabulous dive buddies who led the way, or led me astray as the case may be - Scott, Kathleen, Kevin, Lee-Ann, Lamar and Mike!

A New Experience at Islands of Adventure

My return to Orlando after 20 years came with new experiences as well as old memories. On my last visit in 1991 the Islands of Adventure was not yet the attraction it is today. In fact it didn't even exist. At the time the only attraction from Universal Orlando Resort which was open was Universal Studios.

It's amazing what can change over the course of 2 decades and my eyes were opened to new attractions which I had never before encountered. Universal Studios is still a prominent feature, but right next door you have the City Walk, an entertainment complex with an array of bars, clubs and restaurants, and the Islands of Adventure, a separate park from Universal Studios which still features popular movies as its theme.

As you approach the park's gates you will be greeted by a huge lighthouse standing sentinel. The story behind this is that it calls in travellers from all over who have built attractions reflecting the tales of their adventures, hence the name Islands of Adventure. This is anecdote is augmented as you reach the park's entrance and see an amalgamation of architecture and various styles of building, adding charm and imagination to your experience.

The first land you may encounter is the Dr. Suess' Landing where you can find a whole host of familiar characters from the books and movies. This area is more suitable for younger children however as the rides a fairly sedate, but entertaining nonetheless.

The most popular area of the park is, without a doubt, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and is the park's latest attraction. Hogsmeade is the imaginary location of Harry Potter's universe bought to life with startling attention to detail. For any fans of the books and movies, this truly is a dream come true as you walk through the entrance only to be greeted by the Hogwart's Express steaming and tooting away as if it had literally alighted at the station.

There are many shops to explore on your visit, including Honeyduke's and Zonko's, selling confectionary and joke supplies. Olivander's has also been bought to life, selling a range of magic wands and even exciting guests with its own show. There is even an owl post office, so you can send your postcards and letters back home.

For the thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies, the Dragon Challenge is a fantastic duel rollercoaster fashioned after the Hungarian Horntale and Chinese Fireball dragons from the books. The ride itself is quite intense with several loops and corkscrews, travelling at high speeds.

For people who aren't rollercoaster fans, The Forbidden Journey is a seamless ride simulator and makes you feel as if you are really flying through the hallways of Hogwarts, through the Forbidden Forest and finally speeding through a Quidditch game. You might just bump into a few characters as well.

Jurassic park is the next stop and once again the Islands of Adventure don't fail to impress on first impressions as you enter underneath a huge gate, recognisable from the movie. There isn't much in the way of thrill rides however, with the exception of the Jurassic Park River Adventure, taking you through the park to see various harmless dinosaurs, before veering off course after a mysterious accident. As you enter the restricted zone, there are signs of a velociraptor outbreak and evidence of a few attacks on the unfortunate workers. Coming face to face with a T-Rex is a terrifying experience, but just as you are coming to terms with the massive creature, you will drop down a rather steep slide and eventually soaked at the bottom. This ride was a lot of fun and caused uncontrollable laughter as the passengers look around to see their drenched friends.

We finally entered the Marvel Super Hero Island where a comic book geek's dreams come true. As you walk through the crowd, you might just bump into Captain America or Spiderman taking photo opportunities with the guests. There are some truly spectacular rides in this area of the park as well, the most noticeable one being The Incredible Hulk, a huge green rollercoaster which makes a deafening noise as it speeds passengers overhead.

This is by far one of the most popular rollercoasters in the park, with queues reaching up to two hours waiting time. Once you ride The Incredible Hulk you will soon realise why it is so popular. There is no chain lift to ascend the passengers, but instead a launcher, which shoots you out of a tunnel where you will immediately enter a twist followed by a loop and then a series of corkscrews. This ride is not for the timid!

Another spectacular ride is the Spiderman Experience. Considering this particular ride is almost over 10 years old, it is still way ahead of its time. Similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, this is a motion simulator conveying the illusion of falling and climbing skyscrapers very effectively only this time in 3D. The result is seamless and is astounding.

Finally, we had time for one last ride and that was the vertical launcher, Dr. Doom. This particular ride isn't anything special and has various emulations in other theme parks, but I had never been on a vertical launcher before so I had to try it. I have to admit that I was more scared of this than any of the rollercoasters. You are shot straight up almost 100 ft. and get a very good view of Orlando! My only issue with this ride is that it did not last nearly long enough and I wanted a few more launches; a clear sign that I had shunned my fear for this type of ride.

The Islands of Adventure was an entirely new experience for me and had come into existence during my 20 year absence from Orlando. It is clear to see why this park was so popular, adopting many well-known cultural and entertaining themes. Although this park is available with the regular Universal Studios tickets, we were able to enter with our Orlando Flexticket, with which the Universal Orlando Resort attractions are included with admission.

This park appealed to all age groups with something for everyone and although you might need be a fan of the movies which have been bought to life in this park, the rides and atmosphere will surely excite and astound you. Perhaps I will visit in another 20 years and see what other changes have took place in my absence!

Spider Man - Friend Or Foe Review

The Spider-Man franchise has legions of fans, (including me) and it is fairly obvious that Spider-Man is Marvel Comics' most notorious superhero. Everyone's favorite web-slinger is back in another Spider-Man game titled Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is a video game that is available for the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PSP, PC, and Xbox 360.

The storyline in the game is something about a meteor and monsters. In a nutshell, there is not much of a logical plot. But that is perfectly fine. The game is intended to be facetious and not solemn. All anyone needs to know about the storyline in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is that Spider-Man is facing adversity, and he defers to his most nefarious enemies for assistance. Spider-Man will form an unlikely alliance with a bevy of characters such as Silver Sable, Goblin, Doctor Otto Octavius, Scorpion, and many others.

The gameplay is all about fighting several opponents. The game does add some variety to the gameplay by sprinkling a boss every now and then. For the most part, it is a prototypical game that lacks any originality. As redundant as this may seem, I still had a great time pummeling adversaries with Spider-Man. The combat system is intuitive and engrossing. There are the fundamental attacks and the extravagant web attacks that give the game some much needed style. Spider-Man can utilize his webs to swing an enemy from one side of an area to a completely different place. In addition, he can shoot his webs to swarm foes with webbing (leaving them immobile). As Spider-Man uses more web attacks, he earns more and more experience. Performing combination attacks are done without any trouble, and the controls are user-friendly. Clearing out a room without multiple opponents are straightforward. Players can have human controlled ally or an ally controlled by the artificial intelligence to follow Spider-Man. You can switch on the fly between Spider-Man and the other characters, but the other characters are not as agile as Spider-Man. Spider-Man is the only character in the game that has the dexterity to accomplish maneuvers in the blink of an eye. Unfortunately, there is no Xbox Live support with the game. There is only a two player cooperative mode.

The most disappointing aspect of the game is the web swinging; there is no web swinging across the enormous skyscrapers of New York City. Devoted Spider-Man admirers (such as myself) were somewhat perturbed by this. I would have appreciated the game more if I could take in the scenery. Since the Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is for the six to thirteen age demographic, it is a rudimentary game with no challenge.

An avid gamer can cruise through this game from start to finish without any difficulty. Now that I think about it, there is actually no real consequence for dying in this game. If you die, then you merely start over from the same place because of a token system (ala Lego Star Wars). Gamers will probably have a much more laborious time singing that absurd Spider-Man song, than they will have playing this game. How does that song go again? I think it is something like "Spiderman, Spiderman, Does whatever a spider can." Oh, the hell with the song. Whatever. I do not care about something as frivolous as the catchy Spider-Man tune. Honestly, I only know the first two lines. But I digress.

The graphics in the game are nothing spectacular. Even for the Xbox 360 iteration, the visuals were not anything like Marvel Ultimate Alliance. There are also some minor platform jumping elements in the game, but they are few and far between. The audio in the game has its moments with adequate voice acting. The animations in the game are greatly exaggerated, but I thought that was done intentionally to accentuate the humor in Spider-Man. No one will find a particularly long and arduous game with Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. The game is approximately five hours long. I know; that is shorter than Heavenly Sword and Stranglehold. Overall, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is only for the immensely dedicated Spider-Man enthusiasts. Furthermore, casual gamers of Spider-Man might want to web swing away from this game and wait for Spider-Man 4 in 2009.

final verdict 7 out of 10

The Amazing Spiderman Phenomenon

SpiderMan

From his first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15, SpiderMan has grown to be one of the most loved superheroes ever created, appearing in a range of products, from comic books to movies.

The birth of SpiderMan

When we first met SpiderMan in Amazing Fantasy #15, he was just plain Peter Parker, an unpopular high school student. He was lonely and more interested in books than saving anything or anyone. However, due to the timely interference of a radioactive spider, Peter Parker gains the agility and strength of a spider. Armed with this newfound power, Peter Parker sews himself a red body suit (thank goodness for home economics), constructs a crude webbing device, and joins the professional wrestling circuit to make some money. Alas, Peter Parker is far more into making money with his new skills that helping anyone. When he lets some thieves get away, they end up killing his uncle, setting the stage for the guilt that will drive SpiderMan through the rest of his career.

The comic books

SpiderMan was written to be a one-time affair. His appearance in Amazing Fantasy, however, resurrected sagging sale, in fact, SpiderMan proved to be one of Marvel's most profitable superheroes. Far from being a one-time affair, he can now be found in an endless array of comic books series, from The Amazing Spider-Man, to Spectacular SpiderMan, Sensational SpiderMan, and even Ultimate SpiderMan (not to be confused, of course, with Spider-Man Unlimited).

The franchise

Spider Man is more than just comic books. His popularity has led Marvel to create a media franchise for Spider Man, with his story appearing in television cartoons, video games, and even movies. The recent feature films to focus on SpiderMan star Tobey Maguire as our favorite super hero and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson. The first movie, released in 2002, focuses on the start of SpiderMan's career, with a genetically modified spider taking the place of the original radioactive spider. With his newfound powers, he finds himself face to face with the Green Goblin, played by Willem Dafoe. Propelled by the success of the first movie, SpiderMan returned in 2004 in SpiderMan 2 to face off against Doctor Octopus, a multi-tentacled experiment gone wrong. SpiderMan 3 is scheduled for release in 2007. This time he is set to face his biggest enemy yet, himself in his black venom alien suit.

Building your SpiderMan comic book collection

While SpiderMan has been very successful away from comic books, to truly enjoy him, to truly be a fan, you have to go back to the comic books. This can be difficult, however; finding all of SpiderMan's comics would be a Herculean task. If you need to locate older copies of Spider-Man comics, be sure to look on popular online auction sites. However, you should be prepared to pay for the pleasure of owning an early SpiderMan comic: SpiderMan is not just for kids anymore. Early editions of The Amazing SpiderMan can go for thousands of dollars! But you may be able to get by with slightly later versions of The Amazing SpiderMan, which only go for a few hundred dollars.

Steve Dolan is a Spiderman fan who has followed the webbed hero from the beginning. This site is dedicated to all Spidey fans everywhere Spiderman and Spiderman Comics

Spiderman 3 - Go And Watch It

Spiderman 3 is a movie that probably the entire world has been waiting to come out, because it promised to be a blast. I was one of those who were eagerly waiting for the movie to come out, so I didn't waste any time, and was almost first in line at the cinema waiting to buy tickets. And believe me, this movie was worth it, it was more than a blast, it was absolutely spectacular.

Spiderman 3 further develops Peter Parker's (played by Tobey Maguire) story, and the plot tends to center on the battle that takes place in his soul, everything else evolving around his character. Things seem to be going very well for Peter: the people of New York now love Spiderman, Mary Jane (played by Kirsten Dunst) loves him more than ever, and he's just about to get a full time job at the Daily Bugle. But things will start going down hill very fast, when Peter is taken over by a black alien substance, which amplifies his powers, but also brings out all his negative traits.

On the negative characters plan, we see the development of Harry Osborn (played by James Franco), who becomes the new Goblin, holding Spiderman responsible for his father's death. Next, Flint Marko, who turns out to be Uncle Ben's real killer, is transformed into the Sandman. Spiderman finally manages to free himself from the black substance, but this entitiy soon infects Eddie Brock, who will become Venom. So now Spidey has to face three deadly enemies, and the movie keeps you wondering until the last second if he's going to come out alive. But, as the plot twists and turns, things lighten up. Harry turns to the good side, and helps Peter to defeat the Sandman and sacrifices himself in the fight against Venom, showing a true act of bravery and friendship. The movie ends with Peter and Jane slowly dancing, as the image fades away.

Out of all the series, I think that Spiderman 3 is the one which can be called a masterpiece. I for one liked absolutely everything about it. The movie takes time to develop each character separately, which is a great thing, as we enter the characters minds. And, to add to this, the actors give their best performances, even better than the previous two movies. What is more, the movie manages to blend drama, action and comedy perfectly. I was laughing one moment, almost crying the next, and gasping my hands later on, wondering what would happen next, how would Spidey get out of that situation, and this is what a good movie should be able to do to its audience.

On the whole, Spiderman 3 has shown all the signs of becoming this summer's blockbuster, and, quite frankly, it's managed to leave me hoping that they will decide to make Spiderman 4 too.

My rating: 10/10

Everything Is Climbable - The Art Of Buildering In Texas

While it's thought of more as a daredevil event than a sport, buildering -- also known as urban climbing, structuring, or stegophily -- is the act of climbing on the outside of buildings and other artificial structures. The word "buildering" combines the word "building" with the climbing term "bouldering".

It's not a sport for everyone. In fact, buildering has a small cult following. The most famous practitioner of this ultra-extreme sport is Alain Robert, popularly known as "the real-life Spiderman." Robert has climbed the Empire State Building in New York, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Petronas Towers (twice) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, among others, all done without using any climbing equipment or protection.

Other famous urban climbers include: Dan Goodwin, aka Spider Dan, who climbed the Sears Tower in Chicago in 1981; George Willig who climbed the World Trade Center; Harry and Simon Westaway, who climbed Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster's clock tower, in London as an anti-war protest for Greenpeace; Harry Gardiner, known as the Human Fly, who was the first recorded urban climber; and George Polley, also known as the Human Fly, who took up buildering in the 1910s.

If done without ropes or protection far off the ground, buildering may be dangerous and is often practiced outside of legal bounds, mostly undertaken at night. Builderers are often extremely experienced climbers who are seen climbing on buildings without authorization and are regularly met by police forces upon completing their exploit. Spectacular acts of buildering, such as free soloing skyscrapers, usually attract large crowds of passers-by and media attention.

The biggest draw of buildering is also its biggest drawback: Buildering almost always is illegal, so you should check to make sure it is not before you try it in Texas or anywhere else. And it won't win you any popularity contests. Cops don't like you; landlords don't like you; most people think you're, at best, unusual and, at worst, crazy.

The general public considers climbing on buildings shocking and irresponsible behavior. The first and most important rule is: Watch your butt. You alone are responsible for your actions. You have to be young enough to enjoy currying the disdain of passersby or not care about your reputation. You have to get up early or steal out into the night. The most important key to successful buildering is, "Go in fast and get out."

Buildering can also take a form closer to bouldering, where climbers tend to ascend and/or traverse shorter sections of buildings and structures. While still generally frowned upon by property owners, some turn a blind eye towards the practice in many locations. Although it's often done as a solo sport, buildering has also become a popular group activity. As in more traditional rock climbing, routes on structures are established and graded for difficulty.

Lesser known forms of urban climbing can be observed in demonstrations, as a means of protest, or at some public events such as street parades or concerts, where people frequently climb on sign posts and other small structures.

Unlike other fringe sports like skateboarding, most urban climbers doubt that buildering will ever crack into the mainstream. The problem is that many climbers find the sport is a little "too dangerous" for mass appeal. And buildering is more about the skill than the image and the huge risks involved make it less than appealing. For decades, buildering has existed under the radar and its popularity remains on university hubs, all of which seems to suggest intrinsic limits to its popularity.

As is the case in rock climbing, the trick in urban climbing is to find the perfect holds with the right overall body positioning and adequate balance. But the difficulty in climbing buildings is that the uniformity and evenness of the exterior make it difficult to find the grooves for holds. It is like a physical puzzle that can only be solved through ingenuity, persistence and foolhardiness. Buildering is both a lifestyle and a philosophy of taming the modern landscape.

While ultra-extreme sports such as urban climbing or buildering may help you develop great physical stamina and mental discipline, it is dangerous and must only be attempted by experienced climbing professionals. If you're a young individual who's drawn to this sport, make sure you're in the best shape both mentally and physically.

Sacred Science - A Spiritual Look At Evolution

Evolution, I propose, is the most Intelligent of designs. The miracle of life isn't diluted by the science that makes it all possible, but deepened and enriched by it.

Intelligent Design argues that " certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause rather than an undirected process such as natural selection," and "is thus a scientific disagreement with the core claim of evolutionary theory that the apparent design of living systems is an illusion."

I see much wonder, but no such apparent design, and neither, ultimately, did Charles Darwin, because knowledge lifted the scales from his eyes and the wonder of nature became less a thing divine and unknowable and more a natural work of art continually in progress.

"The state of mind which grand scenes formerly excited in me," he wrote," and which was intimately connected with a belief in God, did not essentially differ from that which is often called the sence of sublimity; and however difficult it may be to explain the genesis of this sence, it can hardly be advanced as an argument for the existence of God, any more than the powerful though vague and similar feelings excited by music."

About "The old argument of design in nature...which formerly seemed to me so conclusive," wrote Darwin, in his autobiography, it "..., fails, now that the law of natural selection has been discovered. We can no longer argue that, for instance, the beautiful hinge of a bivalve shell must have been made by an intelligent being, like the hinge of a door by man. There seems to be no more design in the variability of organic beings and in the action of natural selection, than in the course the wind blows. "

He wrote his friend, botanist Joseph Hooker, "What a book a Devil's chaplain might write on the clumsy, wasteful, blundering, low and horridly cruel works of Nature. My God, how I long for my stomachs' sake to wash my hands of it."

But even that is to anthropomorphize the reality of life on earth with a suggestion of intent even more than Darwin knew he should. He ultimately came to prefer biologist Herbert Spencer's phrase "survival of the fittest" over "natural selection" because the latter suggests the idea of some entity doing the selecting.

It must have been extraordinarily difficult to be Charles Darwin in his age. He began with aspirations of one day being a vicar, but trusting the journey of his intellect and reasoning became a non-believer in a single presiding entity over the universe in support of the indominable forces of nature.

"... can the mind of man," asked Darwin," which has, as I fully believe, been developed from a mind as low as the possessed by the lowest animal, be trusted when it draws such a grand conclusions? May not these be the result of the connection between cause and effect which strikes us as a necessary one, but probably depends merely on inherited experience?

"I cannot pretend to throw the least light on such abstruse problems. The mystery of the beginning of all things is insoluble to us; and I for one must be content to remain an Agnostic. "

My favorite sacred scientist, or at least sacred observationist, is Annie Dillard, and I pull from her bible, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek Harper (Perennial Modern Classics, 1998), for much of the rest of my text here. Few people, I believe, have brought together the sacred and the scientific as beautifully and thought provokingly as she has. Dillard's "intelligent designer" echoes Darwin, and sounds more like actor Jim Carey in Bruce Almighty than the mysterious planner of creationist designs.

"Nature," writes Dillard, "is above all, profligate. Don't believe them when they tell you how economical and thrifty nature is, whose leaves return to the soil. Wouldn't it be cheaper to leave them on the tree in the first place? This deciduous business alone is a radical scheme, the brainchild of a deranged manic depressive with limitless capital. Extravagance! Nature will try anything once. This is what the sign of the insects says. No form is too gruesome, no behavior too grotesque. If you're dealing with organic compounds, then let them combine. If it works, if it quickens, set it clacking in the grass; there's always room for one more; you ain't so handsome yourself. This is a spendthrift economy. Though nothing is lost, all is spent."

Dillard acknowledges the same mystery as Darwin, but heads in another direction, one that I find wholly inspiring, spiritually uplifting and fully life affirming, and that Darwin may have enjoyed as well. Dillard sees *some* sort of originating force. She uses the word "creator," but keeps it lower case. She identifies this creator as "he" but that seems clearly for the utility of writing.

"Look, in short, at practically anything," she says, "the coot's feet, the mantis's face, a banana, the human ear - and see that not only did the creator create everything, but that he is apt to create *anything*. He'll stop at nothing.

"There is no one standing over evolution with a blue pencil to say, "Now that one, there, is absolutely ridiculous and I won't have it." If the creature makes it, it gets a "stet". Is our taste so much better than the creator's? Utility to the creature is evolution's only aesthetic consideration. Form follows function in the created world, so far as I know, and the creature that functions, however bizarre, survives to perpetuate its form. Of the intricacy of form, I know some answers and not others.

"...But of the variety of form itself, of the multiplicity of forms, I know nothing. Except that, apparently, anything goes. This hold for forms of behavior as well as design - the mantis munching her mate, the frog wintering in mud, the spider wrapping a hummingbird, the pine processionary straddling a thread. Welcome aboard. A generous spirit signs on this motley crew."

Consider the jumping spider. Have you ever taken the time to look at one, before flinging it away from you? Jumping spiders are amazing creatures! They have incredible vision and can jump over 20 times their body length. They have eight eyes to gauge distance and detect motion. Four of the eyes are long and tubular, with a narrow field of view but allowing for sharp focus. That's why they seem to look at you so critically - they are! Jumping spiders also have four eyes on the top of the head - 2 toward the back and 2 toward the front, that broaden their field of view and act more like motion detectors.

How about frogs? Without their help, we'd be over-run by insects, and predatory animals would lose a principle meal. In some parts of the word, they form the largest component of vertebrate biomass; with more live weight per acre than mammals, birds, or reptiles.

They're also, for better or worse, a key environmental barometer; they're indicator species, the canaries in our environmental mines. Find a frog with more than four legs and something's up in the neighborhood, and it's probably not good.

Their metamorphic life cycles - usually egg to tadpole (or other water-living larva) to land-based adult - exposes amphibians to both aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Unlike birds or snakes, their eggs have no shells and are protected only by a very thin, permeable gelatinous membrane. And adults, with their moist thin skins, are very sensitive to its surroundings, as well.

Lizards? Like frogs, they're both a vital predatory species with respect to insects, and an equally important species of prey for larger animals. Our lizards here in Florida are spectacular...we've got beautiful skinks that actually guard their eggs until they hatch; so-called "glass lizards," which are legless and are the largest lizards in Florida; we've got geckos with huge catlike eyes and feet Spiderman would envy.

Zoologists Eric R. Pianka and Laurie J. Vitt call lizards "Windows to the Evolution of Diversity," and wrote a coffee table book of the same name (University of California Press, 2006) . Who'd a thunk it? A coffee table book about the evolution of lizards! Only people for whom life on earth, whatever its source, is a miracle could spend lifetimes exploring the ways and means of lizards.

"Certainly nature seems to exult in abounding radicality, extremism, anarchy," wrote Annie Dillard. "If we were to judge nature by its common sense or likelihood, we wouldn't believe the world existed. In nature, improbabilities are the one stock in trade. The whole creation is one lunatic fringe. If creation had been left up to me, I'm sure I wouldn't have had the imagination or courage to do more than shape a single, reasonably sized atom, smooth as a snowball, and let it go at that. No claims of any and all revelations could be so far fetched as a single giraffe.

"The question from agnosticism," observes Dillard, "is, Who turned on the lights? The question from faith is, Whatever for?"

Whatever for, indeed.

Perhaps the answer is simply, "Why ever not?" "Tug on anything at all," said John Muir, " and you'll find it connected to everything else in the universe. " With all the cocktail of the universe whirling through the agar of space, how could the lights *not* come on?

"The creation in the first place, being itself," wrote Dillard." Is the only necessity for which I would die, and I shall. The point about that being, as I know it here and see it, is that , as I think about it, it accumulates in my mind as an extravagance of minutiae. The sheer fringe and network of detail assumes primary importance. That there are so many details seems to be the most important and visible fact about the creation. ... If the world is gratuitous, then the fringe of a goldfish's fin is a million times more so. The first question - the one crucial one - of the creation of the universe and the existence of something as a sign and an affront to nothing, is a blank one. I can't think about it."

And when you come right down to it, how can any of us? Why waste any of the relatively precious few moments we have on earth quarreling over the question we can't answer, let alone ask properly, when there is so much to learn, or at least appreciate, about the fringe details?

".. it is to the fringe of that question," decided Dillard. " that I affix my attention, the fringe of the fish's fin, the intricacy of the world's spotted and speckled detail."

It is evolution, says Dillard, says Darwin, says life on earth, that is the vehicle of that intricacy, the detail man.

"The stability of simple forms is the sturdy base from which more complex stable forms might arise," writes Dillard. "forming in turn more complex forms and so on. "

Dillard observes that there are 228 separate and distinct muscles in the head of an ordinary caterpillar, and that there are six million leaves on a big elm. Not only that, the leaves are toothed, and the teeth themselves are notched.

"In and out go the intricate leaf edges," says Dillard, "And "don't nobody know why"."

Only ten percent of all known life forms on earth are alive today. All the other forms, notes Dillard, fantastic plants, unimaginably strange creatures with various wings, tails, teeth and brains, are all gone, utterly and forever.

"Why so many forms?" asks Dillard. "Why not just that one hydrogen atom? The creator goes off on one wild, specific tangent after another, or millions simultaneously with an exuberance that would seem to be unwarranted, and with an abandoned energy sprung from unfathomable font. What is going on here?

"The point of the dragonfly's terrible lip, the giant water bug, the birdsong, or the beautiful dazzle and flash of sunlighted minnows is not that it all fits together like clockwork - for it doesn't, particularly, not even inside the goldfish bowl - but that it all flows so freely wild, like the creek, that it all surges in such a free, fringed tangle. Freedom is the world's water and weather, the world's nourishment freely given, its soil and sap; and the creator loves pizzazz."

Isn't it all spectacular?! Even these storms that blow us off the face of the earth, melt our civil engineering projects into mud, force us fleeing onto our man-made highways with our carbon dioxide belching steel and plastic beasts of burden. We can't have one without the other: beautiful, peaceful nature without ugly brutish nature; drought without flood; summer without winter; light without darkness; life without death.

"Evolution loves death more than it loves you or me," observes Dillard. "this is easy to write, easy to read and hard to believe. The words are simple, the concept clear - but you don't believe it, do you? Nor do I. How could I, when we're both so loveable?"

And here's the crux of the whole thing: Either the world, our mother, says Dillard, is a monster, or we ourselves are freaks.

To consider that the world is a monster, running, as Dillard suggests, "on chance and death, careening blindly from nowhere to nowhere" we must assume that it somehow produced "wonderful us" with our senses of moral outrage in an amoral world.

"..little blobs of soft tissue," said Dillard," crawling around on this one planet's skin are right," and the whole universe is wrong."

The alternative, she suggests is that "creation itself is blamelessly, benevolently askew by its very free nature, and that it is only human feeling that is freakishly amiss.

"Our excessive emotions are so patently painful and harmful to us as a species," writes Dillard, "that I can hardly believe that they evolved. Other creatures manage to have effective matings and even stable societies without great emotions, and they have a bonus that they need not ever mourn."

She adds that some higher animals do appear to have emotions similar to ours, that dogs, elephants and otters, among others, appear to mourn their dead.

"Why do that to an otter?" she asks. "What creator could be so cruel, not to kill otters, but to let them care?

"It would seem that emotions are the curse, not death...We are the freaks, the world is fine, and let us all go have lobotomies to restore us to a natural state...and go back to the creek lobotomized and live on its banks as untroubled as any muskrat or reed.

"You first."

Of course you won't go first. Nor will I. And neither will Dillard, and even Darwin was not sufficiently discouraged by the brutal facts of life he saw all around him.

Like Dillard, we bring our human values to the creek and so save ourselves from being brutalized.

"My reservations about the fecundity and waste of life among other creatures is...mere squeamishness," says Dillard. "After all, I'm the one having the nightmares. It is true that many of the creatures live and die abominably, but I am not called upon to pass judgment. Nor am I called upon to live in that same way, and those creature who are, are mercifully unconscious."

We have signed a covenant, says Dillard, to which every thing, even every hydrogen atom, is bound.

"The terms are clear: if you want to live, you have to die; you cannot have mountains and creeks without space, and space is a beauty married to a blind man. The blind man is Freedom, or Time, and he does not go anywhere without his great dog Death. The world came into being with the signing of the contract. A scientist calls it the Second Law of Thermodynamics. A poet says, "The force that through the green fuse drives the flower/Drives my green age." This is what we know. The rest is gravy."

And it is the gravy that I live for! Some see God as a wishing well, throwing him penny prayers: ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be opened.

I see God as force and energy; atoms of air; waves of light; birth and death powering the evolutionary machine of adaptive, ever changing life. This, I feel, is a god worth falling face down upon the macrobiotic soil for, a god worth thanking with every oxygen-rich breath I take; a god before which to lay the sacrifice of stewardship before, and for whom to perform atonements of voluntary simplicity, like walking and recycling in the service of continued life and living!

"The universe was not made in jest," concluded Annie Dillard,"but in solemn incomprehensible earnest. By a power that is unfathomably secret, and holy, and fleet. There is nothing to be done about it, but ignore it,or see. "

May we live with eyes wide open!

Walt Disney World Versus Universal Studios For Your Orlando Vacation

Living right here in Orlando, I'm always surprised at some things people ask me. But then I realize that not everyone deals with theme parks every week! I often get asked if Disney is part of Universal Studios. No, they are not, in fact they are big competitors of each other. So then I get asked the next question, which is, which one do I recommend?

Ouch! That's a really loaded question, and it depends on so many things. So let me try to explain the fundamental differences between the two theme parks, and then you can decide for yourself. The biggest difference I think is the characters of the parks. Walt Disney World has all of the favorite characters of the Disney movies.

Snow White, Cinderella, Mickey and Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daffy Duck, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell and all the other Disney stars are at Disney of course. Universal Studios has Marvel comics characters and Universal movie stars.

Like Spiderman, The X Men, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Cat In The Hat, The Grinch, The Terminator and so on. Universal also has more rides based on live action movies, like Jurassic Park, Men In Black, The soon to open Harry Potter, The Mummy and so many more.

Now, Disney is much, much bigger than Universal as far as total size and parks. Disney has 4 major theme parks plus water parks, shopping district, hotels and many other things. You could spend a full week at Disney seeing everything they have, maybe as much as 10 days!

Universal Studios has two main theme parks, a nightlife section, water park, The Hard Rock Cafe and it's own hotels and other smaller things. You could see just about everything in 3 to 4 days I guess. But the main difference between them beside the characters and size is the rides!

Disney World has most of their rides based on their popular children movies, like Peter Pan. So many of their rides are for the small kids, which are gentle and slow of course. Now since they have four parks they do have some extreme rides, like The Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller coaster and a few more.

But you will find many rides at Disney geared toward the smaller kids, from 6 years to 12 or so. That also means they have more rides with a lower height requirement, something to think about if you have small kids. Disney also has more shows, musicals and parades than Universal Studios. They also have an Animal park, which Universal does not.

Universal Studios, on the other hand, is popular with teens! That's because most of their rides are extreme, with awesome roller coasters, wild water rides, spectacular in-your-face effects, extreme stunts and more. It's like a working studio with the most state of the art rides and special effects.

They do have some kiddie sections, but they are not that big. So, if you have small ones you will not be able to take them on most of the rides due to the higher height requirements. That in effect is what really separates Walt Disney World from Universal Studios.

Disney overall is for the little kids, around toddler to 14 or so. It's more about meeting the Disney characters, seeing the shows, enjoying the parades and really getting into the fantasy of Princesses and make believe.

Universal Studios is a pedal-to-the-metal joy ride for the easy to get bored teens! Extreme roller coasters, load music, fire blasting stunts, drenching water rides and fantastic state of the art effects make this popular for the big kids.

But why choose between them? There is no reason not to take in both. If you just have teens they may get bored at Disney's Magic Kingdom, but they would have fun at Animal Kingdom. Small kids would have fun at Universal's Cat In The Hat area of Island's Of Adventure and more.

So take in both if you have the time and money! But if you have to choose, then pick Disney for little kids, and Universal Studios for teens. Your sure to have the best fun of your life whatever one you choose!

Face Painting Tips for Your Kids Party

If you can apply your own make-up or doodle a simple design, you can learn to face paint for a kids party. With these easy tips and techniques and a little practice, you'll be turning out all sorts of colorful characters. Here's how to achieve spectacular results and the admiration of children and parents alike.

First and foremost, inform parents that there will be face painting at your party. Check for any skin allergies. Do not paint children with open cuts or rashes.

Prepare by obtaining the correct paints and materials. Use water-based paints which clean off easily with wet wipes or mild soap and water. Whenever possible, Use paints that have FDA approval for cosmetics. Acrylic paints are not meant for use on the skin and should be avoided.

Have lots of sponges and brushes handy, as well as a container of water. Use a different sponge or brush for each color to minimize the need to clean frequently.

When brushing on color, use only enough water to allow the paint to flow on smoothly. Use even less water when sponging color on large areas. Apply as you would shoe polish, dabbing to even and smooth the color.

The easiest way to get comfortable face painting is to apply color to the entire face and then add simple accents or sparkles. For example, for a Spiderman party, sponge on an all-over red background, then with a fine brush paint a spider web on the cheek or around one eye. Red works well for a ladybug party too, just add a couple of large black spots on each cheek.

For a Shrek or Hulk party, green faces alone can convey the

character and mood of the day. White with dark under-eye shadows makes a great Halloween mummy face, pink and glittery is

perfect for a princess party, lavendar with a few well-placed flowers for a garden party. Clowns are easy - white face with red cheeks and nose, blue crosses over the eyes.

When you're ready, practice a few simple cheek designs. Many face painting books are available with designs from simple to spectacular. Use these to inspire you and practice, practice, practice. The more you practice, the quicker you will be able to complete a design, and your confidence will grow.

Try these quick and easy cheek designs:

Girls: hearts, stars, flowers, slogans, butterflies, ladybugs, smiley face, dolphin

Boys: spider, spiderweb, scars, mustache & beard, snake, shark

Face painting stamps are also available online to make the process even easier. These rubber stamps allow you to stamp a design on the child's face and simply color it in!

Invest in a good quality facial glitter, which adds pizzazz to any face paint design.

Supplement your face painting by making available some temporary tattoos for kids to choose from. Many different themes are available.

Have a mirror handy to show kids the result of your handiwork. They'll get excited and that enthusiasm will spread!

Plan other games and activities for kids to do while you take them one at a time for face paint.

Remember that everyone is capable of sponging on face color and making simple designs. That's all kids really want. Once you've conquered the basics, you can always graduate to more intricate designs.

You might just enjoy face painting so much you'll decide to hire out your services for other kids parties, too!

High Heels To Break the Bank

Women all over the world love collecting girly things like high heels, perfume, rings, bags and dresses, but imagine if you could collect the most desired item in each of these categories? Here we take a look at some of the most outrageously priced things a woman could ever hope to find in her wardrobe cupboard...

Dressed to kill

Naturally one of the most expensive dresses ever was worn on the Red Carpet in Hollywood. Samantha Mumba wore the Scott Henshall creation to the premier of Spiderman 2. The dress, fitted with 3000 diamonds, cost about R57 million. The most expensive and sparkly wedding dress in the world was worn by Renee Strauss. The dress, adorned with 150 carats worth of diamonds, cost about R84 million.

Priceless toes

Any man with a wife who likes Stuart Weitzman shoes is pretty much guaranteed to go bankrupt if he doesn't rake in billions. Weitzman is responsible for creating some of the most expensive heels known to man. One pair, which was inspired by the shoes worn in Wizard of Oz, was put on display in Harrods in 2003. The shoes, adorned with more than 600 rubies, had a price tag of more than R7 million. Another pair, which Mullholland Drive actress Laura Harring wore to the Oscars, is covered in more than 400 diamonds and comes with a price tag of more than R7 million too.

Brilliant bag ladies

Spectacular ladies handbags are always in high demand, but none as much as the Hermes Birkin bag which was sold for about R13 million in 2008. Made of platinum, the versatile bag is adorned with more than 2000 diamonds while the strap can be removed and used as a necklace or bracelet. Some of the most coveted bags in the world come from the Hermes design label. Possibly better known, but equally as desirable, is the Louis Vuitton range of bags. One of their most notable creations is the Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork bag, which is made out of 15 samples of other Louis Vuitton bags. The bag was launched in 2007 and sold out almost immediately, at a price of more than R300 000 each.

Desirable rings

The king of all rings has to be the Chopard Blue Diamond Ring, which has been valued at more than R117 million. The 18 carat white gold band is covered in diamonds and set with a huge blue diamond, which is one of the most expensive stones in the world. Another of their pricey offerings comes in at more than R14 million. The cocktail ring with half moon diamond shoulders is finished off with a 33 carat solitaire diamond on a platinum band.

Priceless smells

A bottle of Clive Christian's Imperial Majesty perfume will set you back about R1.5 million a bottle. Each bottle, of which only ten were ever produced, is encrusted with a white diamonds and gold.

Why would anyone want to wear something that costs more than a small island to insure? The bottom line is that anyone willing to pay for items like these probably doesn't care too much about the price in the first place (except for bragging purposes). It might seem desirable to be able to purchase items like these but remember ladies, heels do not make the woman!

Anita Lyon is a Professional freelance SEO Copywriter and writes on various topics. If you're a woman who loves shopping for a nice pair of heels but hate the mall, opt for the comfort of your own home and buy shoes online. A range of ladies handbags will finish off the perfect shopping spree.

Modern Halloween Fancy Dress Ideas Are Online

For most people the mention of Halloween conjures up images of a fun filled festival with everybody dressing up in any number of Halloween fancy dress ideas and really enjoying themselves in the community trick or treating. But, to some the ideas that they have when people are wearing skeleton or pumpkin Halloween costumes and the images that they convey are ones of pure fear and evil.

In fact nothing could be further than the truth; Halloween is all about one big joyful celebration.

When it comes to choosing something to wear for the big night then creativity and imagination is really reflected in the Halloween fancy dress ideas that we see hence, the very bizarre mix of frightening and grotesque or cute and funny. But, it really seems to work and I think that it is simply fantastic. Some of the influences that we have been exposed to over time, have also shaped how we celebrate All Hallows Eve today and the costumes that we wear.

Halloween has been marked as an occasion for centuries in similar but slightly different ways in several different countries. But, the themes that run through all of them are

1. The celebration of spirits from the spirit world being able to come back and join in the festivities.

2. Marking of the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.

3. Believe it or not, trick or treating.

4. A fantastic time for the community to come together and enjoy the feasting (nowadays partying of course).

Because it was believed that spirits crossed over at this time, it was great to be visited by the spirits of family, friends and loved ones. But, there was no way of stopping evil or bad spirits joining the party so, to help keep any unwanted evil ones away people wore the most frightening thing they could to help do this.

If you dressed up as a ghost or a skeleton, then you were on an equally scary level with them and they would not bother you (or so it was believed) Now, I actually think that is a pretty clever concept. So, you can see why we still wear this type of thing today and it is just brilliant that these traditions have survived over time and you and I are still able to enjoy the celebrations and keep the bad guys away.

Of course, today we have diversified in what we wear and some of the fantastic outfits are a real testament to the influences of the world of film and theatre. I have seen some pretty realistic superhero costume ideas, now they were not around at the time of the ancient Celts for sure. But, Batman, Superman or Spiderman are all up to the job of taking on the bad guys without question.

I absolutely love the fact that anything goes these days and that there are endless Halloween costume ideas for anyone to access all at the touch of a button or click of a mouse. So, whether you embrace the old school traditions by wearing something like a pumpkin Halloween costume or bring on the new and look spectacular in a stunning peacock Halloween costume, it does not matter. You are entering into the spirit of the happy celebrations which is just perfect.

Now that you have a little food for thought - wouldn't you like to see some of the most amazing modern Halloween fancy dress costumes and ideas? Would Lois Lane Dump Spiderman If He Had A Small Penis? What Do You Think?

Hey, it's me, Billy Blackjack. Okay. Let's talk about superheroes. Here you have this superhero but he has a little problem. That problem is that he has a small penis. Do you think that Lois Lane is going to toss old Spiderman out into the weeds because he has a small penis?

Now that you've thought about it (I hope), now we can talk about it. But first, I'm sure you're itching to tell me that Lois Lane isn't Spiderman's girlfriend, aren't you? That's because we all know that Lois Lane's boyfriend is really The Incredible Hulk. But what did we learn from this little exercise?

We learned that you felt a superiority over me because you really knew who Lois Lane's boyfriend was and you believed that I didn't. This made you feel good, didn't it? You thought that old Blackjack was a fool who never read his comic books. You felt that you had the Advantage over me because of your superior knowledge which put you in a higher position over me.

Yet, I really did know who Lois Lane's boyfriend was. So what I did was ambush you by making you Underestimate me. When you found out, just now, that you had underestimated me, it gave me the Advantage and control over the situation and the tactical advantage. That's probably one of the reasons why you're still reading this article.

I'm not in competition with you. No way. I just wanted to point this out. If you can get people to UNDERESTIMATE you then you will have the ADVANTAGE. You can do this with a small penis more than just about anything else, regarding the ladies.

Let's use Superman as an example. We'll use him instead of the Incredible Hulk because he has a cooler costume. Now, pretend you are Superman with a small penis and you've just met up with your Lois Lane lady for the first time. You head on out to the barn for a roll in the hay.

As you take off your cape and take off your fancy underwear, old Lois is going to see that old Superman isn't so super-sized downstairs. Now, do you think she will care? Heck no! And why is that? Because she knows Superman is really Super! He is, in fact, a super man. She knows that he can do everything better than anyone else. Maybe his size is small, but she knows he will be a Super Lover, a Super Gentleman, a Super Romanticist, and that he will give her Super Orgasms. How could he possibly not? He's Superduper in every way. SHE KNOWS HE WILL NEVER LET HER DOWN.

See, this is what you need to become if you have a small penis. You need to become super in all aspects of your life. How is this done? Well, it's easy. Get some books on being a gentleman. Read books on how to dress properly. Learn about all the ways to please a woman sexually. Become a super-oral sex expert. Learn how to excite a woman by targeting her erogenous zones. Get in super shape and develop a super personality. Create a super libido. Read up on building your self-confidence. Learn how to kiss properly. Learn how to give a massage! Learn how to cook. Focus your self-emotional energy on all the GREAT aspects of yourself. Stop focusing on the areas that may be lacking. Learn how to be funny; heck, even learn how to dance properly. The ladies love a guy who can really dance.

Now here's the kicker. Let's go back to being underestimated and the advantage it gives you. Now, let's say, you've been dating your own Lois Lane, but she has no idea that you are really a superman. You've only been out a few times and she realizes you're not like the other clowns she has dated, but she's not sure why. She knows you don't have x-ray vision because you haven't noticed that she's wearing a push-up bra. So, she knows you are not a superhero who can leap tall buildings and all of that. To her, you are simply just a man.

Well, now it's off to the bedroom for the first time with Lois. We've been waiting for this moment. When you unzip your trousers with your own Lois Lane, she's going to see that you are a little less super in your size. This is exactly what you want!

Let me explain! Now, she will inevitably underestimate you because of your size. This is Great! You NOW have the advantage. Here's how you play this out:

1) Act as if the size of your penis means nothing and is nothing for her or anyone in the world to question its size or to be concerned about; or even to give it a second thought. You can do this because you know you now have the advantage and you have built up your self-confidence from the books I told you to read.

2) Make love to her like a sex-starved tiger. You can see this kind of stuff on animal shows on television if you want some key points. These guys in the wild don't mess around.

3) Show her that you are the best lover that she has ever met. Introduce her to your encyclopedic array of sexual positions, ways of orally stimulating her, and give her a massage that will induce a mind-blowing orgasm for her.

See what you have just done? She may have underestimated you, but for what you lacked in size you sure made up for it in all the other areas! All the other areas that most guys don't have a clue about!

Now, you really have her attention and because of what? Because you proved her wrong, but in an indirect and polite way. Don't say anything about it, let it be your little secret. Pretend as if nothing happened. Be as cool as a cucumber that's been locked up in the freezer!

Here's what happened: When she first saw the size of your penis she ASSUMED that - 1) You would probably be lousy in bed, 2) That you would be unable to sexually satisfy her, 3) That she was sure you would have a sexual hang-up and lack self-confidence, and 4) That she was going to be disappointed.

By proving that she was wrong (from you letting her underestimate you), you've done some of that reverse psychology stuff. This stuff makes her believe you are even ten times greater than what you actually were, just because she underestimated you!

But you're not finished yet...

When you are finished having fun in the bedroom, go into the kitchen and cook up some fancy meal that tastes delicious for her. It helps if you've been paying attention to her and notice things like what her favorite dish might be. Cook it up for her, all by yourself, and present it to her. That will really blow her mind. She'll be your sweetheart forever.

See? You can use your size to your advantage by improving yourself in other areas, and letting her underestimate you. Trust me, she'll never do so again. After all, she now truly believes she is dating Superman!

One other thing, don't ever underestimate a lady. See, us men have to work on this underestimation stuff. Women don't. Trust me on this one!

That's right. Hey, I hope this information helps you out and changes your life for you. This stuff is all really simple when you start to break it down into the little things. It's great that you can use your small penis to an incredible advantage if you want to. The choice is up to you. Choose wisely!

Adios!

What The Last Spiderman Films Got Wrong

I used to consider myself a big Spidey fan. That is until the first Sam Raimi Spiderman film came out back in 2002. I remember sitting in the cinema awaiting some web slinging action. I wouldn't say eagerly awaiting as I'd already seen Tobey Maguire in the trailers. I'm an optimist though and Sam Raimi has made one of my favourite films (A Simple Pan) so I was half expecting to be pleasantly surprised. Oh, how I was not either amused nor entertained. As there is a new Spiderman movie in production I'm going to run through what I see (I realise a lot of people love these films) as the major flaws that stopped me from liking the previous films.

The Cast. Here we go with the big one. The first film has one of the stinkiest casts ever assembled. Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin is truly awful, and not in a good way. If I didn't know what film I was watching I would assume it was a send up of how to play a super villain. The Green Goblin suit didn't help matters but the performance is so over the top it just can't be taken seriously and therefore ruins my enjoyment of the movie.

Then there's the main character Tobey Macguire who plays Tobey Macguire in a Spiderman suit. I find his acting style to be virtually non existent. He has one look and that is to look a bit 'woe is me'. Spiderman in the comics was a fun loving guy who needs to juggle his super hero antics with his busy life. There's no need for angst in a Spiderman movie. There's a reason he got the nickname Spidey. He's a likable character.

That said. The tone of the films doesn't set the story in a realistic grounded setting. I think the films are set in some kind of weird limbo where people don't act the way they do in everyday life. Of course the idea of a Spiderman is pretty far fetched but what's interesting to me is always to see how a fantastical story affects real world environments and relationships. Maybe the next films will have more of a serious tone. And if I know gritty reboots they probably will.

Is a Spiderman Kids Costume Right For Your Child?

Spiderman is a popular superhero among kids and adults alike. But, is Spiderman the type of character you want your child to emulate? Keep reading and you'll soon discover if a Spiderman Kids Costume is a good choice.

Let's first take a look at Peter Parker.

Peter was a young boy when his parents died in a plane crash. His father's older brother and wife, Ben and Mary Parker, took Peter in and raised him as their own. As a teen, Peter was an honor student. To the other students, however, he was an unwanted misfit. The girls thought he was too quiet and the boys considered him a wimp. It's no wonder why he had trouble making friends.

The Beginnings

The first day of the rest of Peter's life started after visiting a science exhibition. During one of the demonstrations, a common house spider was exposed to a massive dose of radiation when it swung into the path of a particle accelerator. The stricken spider landed on Peter's hand and bit him as it died.

The spider's irradiated venom altered Peter's biochemistry. His body mutated, giving him the fantastic powers that would transform him into the amazing Spider-Man. Peter tested his powers in a wrestling challenge. Disguised by a mask, he defeated the wrestler Crusher Hogan. He was then offered and accepted a spot on the show. For his TV debut, Peter designed his first costume and a pair of web-shooters. The Spiderman Kids Costume is reminiscent of this initial design.

Peter's First Criminal

The lights on Peter's stardom soon dimmed. Returning home one night after a personal appearance, he discovered his Uncle Ben had been murdered by a burglar. Peter was stunned as he realized this was the same man who burglarized the studio where he worked a few nights before. At that time, he refused to help the security guard apprehend the criminal.

Now, riddled with guilt, Peter vowed to use his power to protect the innocent and stop the guilty. He would never shirk his duty again because if he had stopped the thief at the TV studio, he could have prevented Uncle Ben's death.

Driven by a sense of responsibility and accountability, Peter soon realized that he was a superhero people loved to hate. Considered a nuisance by some, he nonetheless endured many battles to protect the innocent. That's why he makes a fun superhero to emulate by kids. Spiderman is a standup character that helps those who can't help themselves.

Why Is Spiderman 3 Such A Disappointment

Spider Man 3 features your friendly neighborhood web slinger, played by Toby McGuire in the third installment of the Spider Man series. This time Spider man inherits a new suit; this one is black as opposed to his regular red and blue suit in the previous two movies. The black suit makes Spider man faster, stronger and a tougher opponent for his enemies. Sounds good, huh?

But hang on the material of the new suit is really an alien parasite that is trying to attach itself to Peter Parkers body permanently! The black suit also has a serious side effect in that it brings out the dark side of both Peter Parker and Spider man's nature. Both Peter and Spider man become way more aggressive because of the influence of the black suit and suddenly it becomes hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys in this picture.

To complicate things Spider man must battle a new villain, the Sandman, get rid of the black suit, battle his best friend turned super villain and still rescue a crumbling relationship with his girlfriend!! Enough to make a movie huh?

More than enough actually, first off Spider man 3 is long, almost three hours from previews to credits! Overall the movie does not live up to its potential. The reason for the disappointment is because the main thrust behind the Spider man comic on which the movies are based is the adventures of Spider man versus a myriad of super powered miscreants, not necessarily the life and times of Peter Parker. And this is where the movie goes flat, had the director simply made an action movie of Spider man battling and eventually beating the bad guys then Spider man 3 would have been a much better and shorter movie.

But the storyline follows too much of the drama of the life of Peter Parker, who is a C + type of guy, with a girlfriend and a part time job as a photographer. So who would you rather watch a movie about, Spider man a web slinging superhero or Peter Parker, part time newspaper photographer?

The movie does have its points though, the special effects and computer graphics are phenomenal and the action scenes are just that, filled with action. But the movie needs to focus on Spider man and not his alter ego.

So is the movie better than Spider man 2, no way, that movie was perfect and is really what Spider man is about. But the kids will enjoy this movie because it is Spider man after all, but they won't ask to see the movie twice for sure. Overall the movie gets two and a half stars. A tighter more concise plot would have made for a four star movie at least, but maybe we will get that next time.

The Spiderman Effect- A 'Webfull' of Treats For Newbies

Have you ever wondered why kids love Spiderman so much? I suppose because he has that innocent childlike look, and, selflessly helps others for free. You know, kids just love a treat!

I am referring, of course, to the recent wave of Internet marketing offers to the so-called "Newbies" Did you know that approximately two thousand people come to the internet each week, seeking to create wealth? This is about two hundred and eighty six persons per week and a hundred and four persons per year. A large percentage of these are not only new to the internet but many of them come with limited technical knowledge about Internet Marketing. The glaring truth is that, until recently, only about five percent of these people succeed. It is to these people that most of the early Internet Marketers appealed with their products and have now become the Gurus.

The recent trend, however, is that a very large number of programs and tools are being geared towards a more 'leading by the hand approach' to newcomers, rather than the old exploitative approach. Some of these programs and tools have come about as a result of individuals who were 'ripped off' in their early beginnings and are seeking to be more helpful to those who are in the position they used to be. Others have come about as a result of the Gurus being forced to be more helpful, simply because of the rapidly increasing changes and discoveries in the area of such tools and programs, making some of their earlier offers almost obsolete.

So, let us examine some of these trends as they relate to the newcomers.

A search of the Yahoo and Google search engines was done using two search titles. Here are the results: For the title newcomers to internet marketing Yahoo shows 5,690,000 listings and Google shows 190,000 listings. For the title internet marketing for newbies Yahoo shows 14,000,000,listings while Google shows 604,000 listings. In this mix a fairly significant number cater to free programs and tools.

So then, what are some of the better solutions to the basic newbie problems of; little technical knowledge, limited cash, no website, no idea about traffic generation, no product?

There are host of website building tools on the internet, but for a new non-technical person I would recommend Bluevoda in which any newcomer can create a website-and it's free! You can also host with them at their Vodahost for as little as $7.95 per month. And while you do that if you have no product grab their affiliate offer.. For other interesting affiliate offers visit Russell Bronson's (thesecondtier.com/affiliateevolution) However,if you would like to build a site and host it for free in order to experiment before you launch out try Freeservers. free servers.com)

These should get you started.

O.k. so far, but what about the never ending problem of building a list and driving traffic

to your site? I am going to recommend two of the best as far as helping newcomers and offering freebies are concerned. Check out John C. Vincent's (Viral URL.com) for traffic generation and his(ViralURL.com/GetItNow/CovertListBuilding) for generating a list. Then appreciate Melvin Perry's (workingonyourown.com) for all the help you need in all areas.

That's it,then, so much for your friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Now, go spin yourself some web!
